Newborn and Family Photographer based in Melbourne

I am a Newborn and Family photographer based in the bayside area of Melbourne, VIC. I service all of Melbourne, and have many beautiful outdoor locations from Brighton to the Mornington Peninsula, the Dandenong Ranges and the Yarra Valley. I also regularly visit my home town of Rutherglen for both work and play!

“Absolutely beautiful. We were astonished at how much heart and dedication was put in”

Kind Words

Sophie arrived at our home with such love and kindness, we aren’t normally the typical of people who would have a photoshoot. However, straight away Sophie made us feel comfortable and relaxed. She felt apart of the furniture by the end of the photoshoot. Her photos have captured our daughter in the most amazing way, and we will cherish these photos for years to come! Thank you for your amazing talent and beautiful personality Sophie!

FAQ

01.

When should we book?

Weekends are usually in high demand and can book out months in advance, so get in early to secure your preferred date. I do however love a mid-week session where we often have the location to ourselves. If you are pregnant it is best to book your maternity or newborn session as soon as you can to avoid missing out

02.

What time of day do we have our session?

My sessions are held either at sunrise or sunset, where the light is the softest, where the sunlight dances, the sky glows. This is also the most flattering light to have your photos in. Keep in mind that during daylight savings sunset can be as late as 8pm and as early as 5pm over winter, so your babies nap times may help you decide when is the best time to book-in.

03.

What location will it be?

I have a number beautiful locations that I use regularly and this is something we discuss as part of the booking process. Together we’ll find the perfect backdrop to capture you guys as a family

04.

What about the weather

It’s no secret that I love a golden sunset, however since moving to Melbourne I’ve embraced and come to love the moody skies and heavy grey clouds, these sessions are some of my favourites to date. In the event of rain or severe wind, we will reschedule and I always leave room in my calendar in case we need to do this. Sometimes we make the call on the day of, as you just never know what mother nature will do!

ALL THE ANSWERS TO YOUR QUESTIONS!

05.

When is the best time of year for our family photoshoot?

Every season holds something special, an autumn/winter session is misty weather, golden leaves, lots of layers and knits, spring and summer is wet sandy feet, blue skies and balmy breezes.

06.

What do we wear?

I know it can feel daunting to find the perfect looks for your session.

I will provide you with a style guide as part of your welcome information, and will help you put together the outfits for your family so that they complement each other. I generally suggest sticking to earthy and neutral shades however the most important thing is that you feel like yourselves. I have a client wardrobe for the mamas, and a collection of knits and blanket for the bubbas that is growing all the time!

07.

What happens if my children don’t cooperate?

Kids are unpredictable, and that's ok. There is no such thing as a perfect session, no matter how much we plan. Try and let go of any expectations that it will be, because it's not about that.

Know that I am skilled at finding the beautiful moments within the hard stuff, so no matter what happens, I will capture the beauty within it.

08.

What happens if we are sick or need to reschedule?

Life happens, if you need to reschedule for any reason, get in touch and we can find another time for your session.
